After 10 years of trying and three 4th places, Tantrix inventor Mike McManaway from New Zealand realised his dream of winning the World Championship! This year, it involved nearly 170 players from 25 countries, including 23 from the UK & Ireland. Mike beat GB no. 1 Neil Jenner from Colchester in the QFs. results >

The 2007 British Open, held at City University in London on 24-25 March, was won by Zoltán Németh from Hungary. Canterbury's Angharad Taylor was the top UK player, winning the bronze medal. Belfast's Simon Wright won the U18 gold medal and Bromsgrove's Stephen Purkiss won the Rising Stars competition. results >
