Tantrix for Educational Use : Downloads

The following documents can be downloaded in PDF format. To view and print these documents, you will need to have PDF reader software installed on your PC. You can click here to obtain the free Acrobat Reader software from Adobe if you do not already have such software. Alternatively, paper copies of these documents are available from us on request - please write to us at feedback@tantrix.co.uk.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You download any of these files at your own risk, but immediately before the files were last uploaded to the server on 7 June 2003, they were scanned with Norton AntiVirus with virus definitions dated 5 June 2003 and no viruses were found. USING THESE FILES: Assuming you have Acrobat Reader, you can download each document using two different methods. If you want to just view one of these documents from within your web browser, please click the relevant "Download" link below - a new, blank webpage will open and a couple of minutes later the document will appear on that page. However, to give you more flexibility, we suggest that you save the document to your hard disk. To do that, you need to right-click on the relevant "Download" link below then click "Save Target As..." and pick a directory to save the file to. Once the file has downloaded, navigate to the directory you stored it in and double-click on it in order to view and/or print the document.

1) School Activity Guide

Learn while having fun! This illustrated guide, consisting of 16 A5 pages, contains brief notes on the educational uses of the Tantrix Game Pack or Tantrix Classic Game 56-tile sets with children of all ages. It also explores the 'Loop Theory' behind Tantrix loop puzzles. This guide may be of interest to teachers, parents or anyone else who is interested in the basic theory behind Tantrix puzzles.

2) Tantrix for Young Children / SEN

Children who are too young to follow the rules of the Tantrix game or the Tantrix puzzles are nevertheless usually fascinated by the brightly-coloured, tactile Tantrix tiles. These leaflets, aimed at parents and teachers, contain suggestions for free and guided play using Tantrix tiles for children aged 3-6. The suggestions may also be appropriate to those of any age with special educational needs.
