Tantrix in the UK and Ireland
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: (N.B. if you do not see a map above, please click here for a text list)

What Tantrix products are available? Please see our product details page.

What do the notes in [...] mean? Most notes are self-explanatory but "TGP only" means "only stocks the Tantrix Game Pack ('TGP'), nothing else" and "no TGP" means "only stocks Tantrix Discovery, not TGP".

Do all shops without notes stock every product? Most shops stock Tantrix Discovery in at least one format (bags, wooden or chrome stands) plus the Tantrix Game Pack, but some shops may run short of stock from time to time. Only selected stockists carry Tantrix Xtreme. Hence, if you will be making a special trip to a shop, it is always worth calling in advance to check that they have exactly what you want.

How much does Tantrix cost? Prices vary slightly between shops (seldom by enough to make it worth shopping around) but as a guide, you can expect to pay up to £20 for the Tantrix Game Pack, or up to €30 in Ireland. Tantrix Discovery and Xtreme puzzle prices vary depending on the format (e.g. mesh bag, wood or chrome stand) but are always less than half the price of the Tantrix Game Pack.

I think I have seen Tantrix in a shop that is not on this list. Is that possible? In a few towns with more than one stockist, only the longest-established one will be shown. In such cases, the newer stockist in the town is usually excellent too; it is just that we know from long experience that the original shop stocks most of the Tantrix range all year round and that you will get exceptional service from them, such as being allowed to try a Tantrix puzzle before you buy. Indeed, they have probably had a lot to do with Tantrix becoming popular in your area in the first place! Alternatively, the stockist may be very new and just about to be added to the list.

How do you determine the shops I see on the list when I click on the map? The shops shown are those within a circle centred on the point where you clicked. The circle starts off with a radius of 50 miles but if there are more than 12 shops in that circle (as there are for most of you), the circle is reduced in size to find only the nearest 12. For example, there is at least one point in London where there are 12 shops within 5 miles and hence all 12 shops will be highlighted in blue on the list. Conversely, in remote areas with very few stockists such as the Highlands & Islands, the circle will be increased in size until it contains at least three shops.

Why are there are no town/city names on the map? Just to keep the map uncluttered. It should be easy to find the main centres of population and hence orientate yourself just by noticing where the biggest clusters of dots are. In any case, with up to 12 shops being shown on the list, you do not need to click in exactly the right place. You can even adjust your selection and have a second try if necessary!
